Job Responsibilities
i) Maintain and update the compensation database
ii) Compile accurate pay slips and ensure all payroll data is prepared
iii) Participate in the review of payroll software
iv) Process pension benefits in accordance with Trust Deeds and Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) regulations
v) Serve as the interface between KETRACO and pension scheme administrators, fund managers, and custodians of staff superannuation funds
vi) Process SAP Payroll and interface the system with Finance General Ledger
vii) Facilitate and oversee the prompt submission of the monthly payroll to Finance to ensure staff are paid by the 25th day of every month
viii) Process staff benefits such as loans, advances, allowances, terminal benefits, and other approved staff claims
ix) Assess staff eligibility for loans, advances, and bank loans, making necessary recommendations
x) Review proposals from potential banks for personal lending to staff and recommend further managerial action
xi) Process statutory deductions like PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, and Pension, as well as other voluntary deductions promptly
xii) Recover terminal dues overpayments and other resources from staff due to KETRACO
xiii) Extract KETRACO's annual PAYE returns as required by the Income Tax Department
xiv) Prepare annual staff status reports for National Employment Authority and Salaries & Remuneration Commission
xv) Resolve payroll discrepancies and assist in payroll audits
xvi) Facilitate the remittance of members' contributions to fund managers
xvii) Assist in the preparation of timely annual pension accounts
xviii) Report changes in pension fund membership to pension administrators
xix) Maintain confidentiality and safe custody of members' records
xx) Sensitize members on pension matters
xxi) Implement key Board and Management decisions such as Salary Reviews
xxii) Participate in the development and implementation of compensation and benefit policies and procedures
xxiii) Prepare ad hoc reports for Management decision-making and assist in budget preparation and administration
Job Qualifications
i) Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Finance
ii) Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
iii) Possess Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) certification
iv) Hold a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM) or possess a CHRP Certificate
v) Have completed a supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks
vi) Demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of experience with SAP-HCM (payroll) version 7

vii) Experience with SAP-BI and analytical skills would be considered an advantage
