Job Description

The preferred candidate, reporting to the Head of Credit, will be responsible for guaranteeing that all Pay-As-You-Go (PayG) loans, once approved and distributed, are repaid in accordance with the specified terms and conditions

This is to prevent any potential financial loss to the company resulting from non-repayment

Job Responsibilities

I

Identify emerging trends impacting the early arrears of the Pay-As-You-Go (PayG) portfolio and pinpoint potential problematic areas

Conduct on-site customer visits and make telephone calls, as necessary, to pursue payments and recover debts from PayG borrowers

III

Ensure effective management of arrears spanning over 1 to 90 days for all disbursed PayG loans

IV

Prepare weekly arrears reports for Relationship Managers and regional teams, and follow up to ensure full repayment

V

Maintain an updated registry of insurance claims related to loans and ensure timely reimbursement from underwriters

VI

Coordinate resource allocation and prioritize tasks to enhance productivity and success rates for credit collection Relationship Managers

VII

Generate compliance and risk assessment reports to facilitate decision-making and performance evaluations

VIII

Undertake any other responsibilities within the purview of this role

Job Qualifications

I

Possession of a business-related degree, with a CPA qualification considered advantageous

  

Experience:

II

Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in debt collection and recovery, preferably within a lending and recovery environment


Skills and Knowledge:

III

Familiarity with credit management and banking practices is beneficial

IV

Willingness and capability to work extended hours when necessary

V

Strong interpersonal abilities coupled with effective leadership skills

VI

Demonstrated evidence of well-developed organizational skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines

VII

Essential knowledge of financial services, microfinance, and consumer lending sectors

VIII

Proficient verbal communication skills, including respectful and assertive negotiation

IX

Attentiveness to accuracy and detail

X

Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new systems and processes

Dedication to delivering service excellence

XII

Proficiency in GSuite and Microsoft Office applications
