secThe primary responsibilities entail strategizing, executing, and finalizing IT stream challenges to meet the requirements of Business Users within specified deadlines. This involves collaborating with various business units and IT team members. A crucial aspect of this role is to possess strong technical skills in developing and configuring out-of-the-box platforms that SunCulture can acquire to streamline IT operations and achieve business objectives. Additionally, you must have the capability to enhance and implement system/application/code/security policies and procedures to assess and mitigate potential risks.
Your main duty is to ensure the functionality, upkeep, and enhancement of SunCulture's IT systems. This encompasses identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and integrating necessary updates to the systems. Furthermore, your role involves supervising internal servers, applications, databases, custom code, application configurations, providing support and maintenance, and utilizing this information for business processes and strategic purposes. Building relationships with various stakeholders, generating periodic reports, and maintaining an effective management information system to support the development of code, application configuration, database queries, monitoring tools, and processes at SunCulture are also key aspects of your role.
Overseeing the daily operations of SunCulture's technology stack, including managing new releases and collaborating with Business stakeholders to conduct quality assurance activities
Maintaining and configuring the IoT platform and third-party tools
Acting as a prominent contributor in technical cross-team discussions, which includes supporting Business Intelligence (BI) in daily stand-ups and scoping exercises
Supervising the Enterprise service desk (ESB) and undertaking the development of custom code to address ongoing business requirements
- Agile with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced tech environment
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information, Communication, and Technology or equivalent, accompanied by at least a Diploma in Analytics
- Possesses over 2 years of experience in a similar field
- Available within the East African time zone, with flexibility of about 2 hours on either side
- Demonstrated experience in managing a complex stack of systems
- Proficient in utilizing cloud technologies, preferably AWS or Azure
- Skilled in ESB technologies like Kafka
- Experience with IoT platforms is highly advantageous
- Proficient in software release management and automation
- Keen attention to quality with a track record of implementing quality control procedures
- Exceptional leadership and organizational capabilities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Extensive experience in managing business user expectations across multiple tasks and applications
- Capable of thriving in a dynamic environment with high-pressure situations, adept at problem-solving
